Part B · Trade — Chapter 7

Setups & entries: archetypes, bid vs reclaim

After this: name which of 8 setups a listed coin is in, and choose to bid the zone or wait for the reclaim.

Every setup is the same three parts meeting

Support zone + trend MA + market structure. Setups differ only in where they meet. His best entries stack several at one price: 2H 200s + old range high as demand + HTF mid-range + structure. The "trifecta" is 200D + previous range high + local trend MA + HH/HL. Lose that stack and price goes to the range lows, whichever low your stop was under (Ch 3).

Three reasons, one price. That is a confluence entry.

The 8 setups he keeps repeating

Deduped across 15 watchlists (Nov 2022 – Mar 2023). Each sketch: where he buys, what kills it. A ninth, the multi-year downtrend reversal, is an investor setup and comes in Part C.

Buy the test of the MA it trends on. Dead if it loses that MA → next MA. ▶ Watchlist W13 17:12
200s reclaimed + demand flip → buy the retest. Stop below prior structure. ▶ Trend Reclaims 0:28
Pullback into 4H 200s/demand, wait for LTF strength. Stop below the new low. ▶ Watchlist W9 10:45 not-biweekly
"Ideal swing long": bid the old range high + 4H 200s. Dead if back inside. ▶ Watchlist W5 12:03 ▶ Watchlist W15 3:09
Break below the range, reclaim → long, stop under the wick. ▶ Watchlist W16 2:39 ▶ Watchlist W7 3:20
Range low + MA + structure, stop below lows. Wins as a range or as a trend. ▶ Best Alts 4:20 ▶ Watchlist W14 22:58
Retest of old range high + 1H 200s, target fib extensions. Dead on losing the MA. ▶ Watchlist W8 10:57 ▶ Watchlist W16 9:27
Clean downtrend flips: reclaim 200s + supply, nothing overhead. ▶ Watchlist W10 15:53 ▶ Watchlist W11 4:45

Two ways in: bid the zone (A) or wait for the reclaim (B)

At a HTF zone you can step in front of the train and bid it (A), or wait for the LTF breakout and 30m 200s reclaim, then "assume the low is in" (B). "Everything is a balancing act between probabilities and risk reward." They move inversely, like a seesaw.

A buys the zone. B buys proof.

Don't pre-bid a slow bleed

The fear isn't missing the bottom. "Your fear is I get my entry and then some": the bid fills and price keeps bleeding. A fast impulse into a zone can be pre-bid. A slow grind with a dying narrative can't. Set-and-forget bids only work in the right environment. Otherwise wait for LTF strength. "You're obviously much better off waiting for some strength to develop after having tested a key region."

Snaps back. Bid works.
Filled, and then some.

Missing is fine. Chasing isn't.

If the trend MA bounces before your zone, the bid was front-ran: no fill, keep watching. If LTF strength shows before your retest, cancel the bids and accept the opportunity cost. No market orders into illiquid breakouts (slippage). Late catch-up entries are "musical chairs": in thin markets they get stopped.

Unfilled is a result, not a mistake. Don't market-buy the top to make up for it.
