Part C · Invest — Chapter 12

Riding the bull

After this: map fib-extension take-profits in price discovery and exit on the trend break, not on a target.

Price discovery is where the wealth is

"This is actually how you're probably going to make most of your wealth." In price discovery nobody knows fair value: the market is literally discovering it (SOL $1→$250, DOGE 0.2¢→75¢). Balance being a moonboy with "gravity does exist".

Uncharted territory: the chart has no memory above.

Think logarithmically

SOL $3→$12 is +300%, and "I'm not buying at $12" is linear thinking. On a log axis every leg looks alike. It is "impossible to not be bullish on the way into price discovery" once you acknowledge the 4H 200s flip, the resistance breakout and HH/HL at demand.

$12 looks like the top.
$12 is one step of many.

The fib-extension ladder

Pick a relevant high → low (arbitrary, but justify why). The golden pocket (0.618–0.65) is the last resistance before discovery. Above it, extensions are the targets: 1.618 → 2.618 → 3.618 → 4.236 (then 6.85, 11.09). He only uses fibs in price discovery. They're a "magic number I just made up", but they are self-fulfilling: in uncharted territory everyone draws the same ones.

Every extension is a scale-out, not an exit.

Take profit, ask questions later

"You cannot profit from markets without taking profit." Sell some at each extension, then ask: rejection? Pullback buy? Local-trend add? At a big resistance with the trend intact, "play it as such": "resistance is resistance… the trend is the trend", so take part and hold the rest.

Exit on the trend break, not the target

Moonboy is fine while the 4H 200s + daily structure hold. Only the y-axis changes: the argument is identical at $2.40, $12.60, $20 and $38. Lose the 4H 200s, print a daily LL then an LH, lose demand, and "even a four-year-old knows this time is different". Stop targeting the next fib.

Price changed; the reasons didn't, until the trend broke.

Be confident early, not late

Conviction belongs at the 200D reclaim + key trend shift + first weekly structure break in 8 months after a −60% downtrend. Late-confidence people "didn't see it coming". From there to the ATH, 1H/15m breaks don't change the daily level-to-level odds. Only a break of the last resistance before ATH adds anything. A new ATH "can't get more bullish". Ch 10 covers how to keep it.

The argument maxes out early; price rising further doesn't strengthen it.

Be both: moonboy and knife-dodger

Moonboys held SOL $3→$250→back down because they targeted 10k or "flip BTC". Downside-navigators missed the rally. Logarithmic thinkers are usually diamond hands with no sell plan ("million or back to zero"). Be both. "I am bullish at the exact Pico top" is fine: the local shift tests the HTF trend (−12%), the 4H 200s loss → chop → breakdown, and the −60% is avoided.

Diamond hands ride this back down; the trend trader has already left.

The retire-this-cycle loop

Same philosophy every cycle: a new fib from the cycle high → low, targets 1.618…4.236. "Yes, I am an absolute moon boy." Lose the 4H 200s → you can't justify the fib, so wait for a reclaim (run it back, same argument, which may fail). If 11.09 cracks, redraw from the new high → low. "We're never reliant on the market, we're reliant on a thought process."
